Silver Investment News: Isle of Man 2009 Tutankhamun Sand Triangle Coin

Struck by the Pobjoy Mint, the only official producers of coins for the Tutankhamun exhibition in London

• Legal tender coins of the Isle of Man
• Available in Proof fine 999.9 Silver and Proof fine 999.9 Gold

In 1922, Howard Carter shot to international fame when he discovered King Tutankhamun’s tomb and its legendary treasures. To coincide with the recent Tutankhamun exhibition in London, the Isle of Man issued a series of official commemorative coins – and, appropriately, the final coin honours Carter on the 70th Anniversary of his death.

The coin is a stunning pyramid shape. It shows a design from the wall of Tutankhamun’s tomb, with Tutankhamun himself in the centre. The sun disc at the top contains ancient sand that was collected from the entrance of Tutankhamun’s tomb.

Due to the coin’s unusual shape and the small amount of sand that was collected, the edition limits are exceptionally small. THE GOLD COIN HAS REACHED ITS ISSUE LIMIT. NO MORE GOLD COINS AVAILABLE.

Each coin is presented in a specially commissioned, beautifully crafted Pyramid presentation case.

The Angel is one of the world's most beautiful and popular coins. The Isle of Man Government introduced a new design in 2008 showing a classic image of Archangel Michael slaying the Dragon. This is just the third Angel design in the coin's 25 year history.

It brings back some of the features from the first Angel coin, including Michael's feathered wings and the Celtic band around the border. To celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the Silver Angel coin, a high relief Proof 999. 1oz Silver Angel coin is being struck for the first time, highlighting every detail of this exceptional coin.

DRAGON PEARL LUNAR YEAR 1 OZ SILVER COIN 10$ FIJI 2012

In occasion of the Year of the Dragon, a unique Silver coin with a real pearl will be issued. The dragon is considered to be a very strong symbol. Historically, it always represented the Chinese emperor and therefore stands for power and protection. Today, it is theultimate auspicious symbol signifying success and happiness. May the celestial Dragon bring great good luck to everyone!

THE DRAGON

According to the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of 2012 is the Year of the Dragon, which begins on January 23, 2012 and ends on February 9, 2013. The Dragon is the fifth sign of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 Animal signs. The Dragon is a creature of myth and legend. In ancient China, the celestial Dragon represents an emperor and power. Today, it is the ultimate auspicious symbol signifying success and happiness. May the celestial Dragon bring great good luck to everyone.

People born in the Year of the Dragon share certain characteristics: Innovative, enterprising, self-assured, brave, passionate, conceited, and quick-tempered. The Dragons are the free spirits of the Chinese Zodiac. Restrictions blow out their creative spark that is ready to flame into life. So, they must be free and uninhibited. The Dragon is a beautiful creature, colorful and flamboyant.

An extroverted bundle of energy, gifted and irrepressible, everything Dragons do is on a grand scale - big ideas and extreme ambitions. However, this behavior is natural and isn't meant for show. Because they are confident, fearless in the face of challenge, they are almost inevitably successful.
People born in the Year of the Dragon usually make it to the top. But, they must be aware of that too much enthusiasm can leave them tired and unfulfilled. They find pleasure in helping others, and you can always count on their help. Even though they are willing to assist when necessary, their pride can often impede them from accepting the same kind of help from others. Their generous personalities give them the ability to attract friends, but they can be rather solitary people at heart. Their self-sufficiency can mean that they have no need for close bonds with other people.

Dragon people tend to take thrilling risks, and burn the candle at both ends so they are fortunate to be blessed with good health. However, they can suffer bad health as a result of excess stress. Symtoms of their personalities often stem from emotional outbursts and can range from tension headaches to depression to hypertension. They can remedy these problems by maintaining their cool, implementing a routine in their daily lives, and practice meditation, Tai Chi or Yoga that soothe the mind and spirit as well as tone the body.

2011 Real Pirates of the Caribbean - Nuie Silver Ounce Ounce Proof Coin Set

About the Design

The Real Pirates of the Caribbean - New Zealand Mint’s latest commemorative coin set release.

The great or classic era of piracy in the Caribbean extends from around 1560 up until the mid 1720s. The period during which pirates were most successful was from 1700 until the 1730s. Caribbean piracy arose out of, and mirrored on a smaller scale, the conflicts over trade and colonization among the rival European powers of the time, including the empires of Britain, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal and France. Most of these pirates were of English, Dutch and French origin. Because Spain controlled most of the Caribbean, many of the attacked cities and ships belonged to the Spanish Empire and along the East coast of America and the West coast of Africa. Dutch ships captured about 500 Spanish and Portuguese ships between 1623 and 1638. Some of the best-known pirate bases were New Providence, in the Bahamas from 1715 to 1725, Tortuga established in the 1640s and Port Royal after 1655.

Reverse Design
The reverse of the coins features a full coloured image of the most famous Caribbean pirates; Edward Teach or Blackbeard, Calico Jack Rackham, Henry Avery and the most successful Bartholomew Roberts.

Obverse Design
The obverse of the coin features The Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II sovereign of the commonwealth of Niue.

Vicksburg 5 Oz Silver Bullion Coin Release

The United States Mint on Wednesday let its distributors know that they may order Vicksburg National Military Park 5 Oz Silver Bullion Coins on Monday, June 20, 2011

The Vicksburg silver bullion coin marks the ninth of fifty-six issues in the America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Bullion Coin series. It is the fourth of five which will be available this year.

As a United States Mint bullion product, the Vicksburg bullion coin will not be available for direct sale through the Mint’s website or customer service department. This is a distinction from the companion five ounce uncirculated versions produced specifically for coin collectors. Instead, a network of distributors, known as "United States Mint Authorized Purchasers," buys the bullion coins in large quantities and then resells them in smaller amounts to dealers and precious metals providers for a modest premium above the current spot price of silver.

Like the previous 2011-dated issues, the Vicksburg National Military Park 5 Oz Silver Bullion Coin has a total mintage limit of 126,700. This amount is allocated equally among participating AP’s. Authorized Purchasers pay a premium of $9.75 per coin to the Mint, and must commit to buying at least 2000 coins, with 100 increments permitted. AP’s typically have one business week to purchase their entire allotment. Bullion coins that remain unsold are later made available to AP’s who desire more.

All the America the Beautiful Silver Coins are struck to a purity of .999 fine silver. They have a diameter of 3 inches and edge letterings of .999 FINE SILVER 5.0 OUNCE. The coins share the same obverse and reverse designs as the companion America the Beautiful Quarters® produced for circulation. The Vicksburg quarter for Mississippi has not yet been released. It is scheduled to launch on August 29.

To date, all of the 2010-dated bullion coins have sold out, although they had a lower per coin mintage of 33,000. The first two 2011-dated bullion coins have sold out as well.
